The experience you need

Ryan currently acts as project manager for a series of rural EHR implementation and optimization projects. The projects have included the implementation and study of a variety of health information technologies in rural facilities in an effort to optimize their use of EHR systems. His responsibilities have included conducting interviews and focus groups with employees at health care facilities to assess their past and current EHR implementations, assist the facilities to address barriers identified through data collection, implement and optimize technology, and use the acquired knowledge to support additional rural facilities.

REACH clients benefit from his qualitative research on the exchange of health information for the Center for Rural Health Research and Education in Wyoming. His responsibility was to identify barriers—legal, cultural, and organizational—to the adoption of interoperable systems for exchanging health information electronically. He also worked with the Wyoming Regional Health Information Organization to develop a health information exchange Web site.
