The Meaningful Use clinical quality measures have established a goal for hospitals to be able to electronically capture and calculate the associated 15 hospital quality measures directly from data in their electronic health record (EHR) systems. And ideally, data elements should be standardized across multiple facilities.
This presentation highlights how-to findings from a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant-funded project - the Quality through EHR Standardization and Technology (QUEST) Project, rural HIT collaboration for meaningful use. This project is not simply about going through the steps to achieve that goal - it is about using the data captured in the electronic patient record to improve patient safety, improve outcomes of care, and achieve reductions in health care costs.
While the project is focused on hospitals only, the process (i.e., capturing current environment, work flow and data capture) can be used in all settings.
Participants will be able to:
Administrators, CEOs, CIOs/IT staff, DoN/nursing staff, physician/providers, project managers, and others with responsibilities related to staffing.
