This webinar will discuss the financial, quality, and job satisfaction benefits of having an electronic health record (EHR) from the provider perspective. The presentation will also focus on some of the challenges of the transition with methods that will help mitigate these challenges. The presenter is a physician who has been through two implementations as a provider and will be speaking from experience.

Dr. Paul Kleeberg, MD is the Clinical Director of the Regional Extension Assistance Center for HIT (REACH), funded by the recovery act to assist small hospitals and primary care providers in Minnesota and North Dakota adopt and become meaningful users of electronic health records. He has over 16 years experience as a family physician in a small clinic in greater Minnesota and later in a large health system. He also has over 18 years of experience in information technology implementing EHRs in ambulatory and hospital settings. He is a member of the Minnesota eHealth Advisory Committee and has co-chaired its Meaningful Use and Exchange Workgroup. Dr. Kleeberg received his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Minnesota. He is board certified in family medicine, is a fellow in both the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and in the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) and is a Certified Professional in Health Information Technology (CPHIT).
