Sheldon Wolf, North Dakota health information officer, is responsible for overseeing the Health Information Technology Office that resides within the Information Technology Department. Sheldon serves under the direct supervision of the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee.
Sheldon has experience in accounting, auditing, and budget management as well as leadership and strategic planning and his work experience includes work with state government, including Medicaid, the private insurance industry, and for a fortune 500 company.
Chad Peterson, North Dakota health information exchange technology manager, manages the technical aspects of the state’s Direct Project and health information exchange implementation and is the liaison with the state's HIE vendor and the project stakeholders.
Chad was the human resources and technology manager at Northwood Deaconess Health Center. He served as project CIO for a $1.8M grant that successfully implemented electronic health record (EHR) software at three North Dakota hospitals. He also serves as the CIO for the Dakota Plains Health Information Technology Alliance—a group of five North Dakota health care facilities that consolidated their EHR IT infrastructure to make their systems more efficient, affordable, and secure. He has served as an HIT consultant for REACH and served on the North Dakota Health Information Technology Advisory Committee and is co-chair of the Technical Infrastructure Domain workgroup. He has also been instrumental in organizing the North Dakota Health Information Management Systems Society chapter.
