Case Stories and Innovative Projects - Mississippi
The Delta Rural Health Network of Mississippi, Inc., an existing network of 22 small rural hospitals in the state, developed a strategy to address HIPAA compliance with its member hospitals. SHIP funds were pooled and a consultant group was engaged to work with each of the hospitals. As a result of pooling funds, each participant hospital saved approximately $3,500 for HIPAA training. In addition, the network committed a staff member to serve as a resource for HIPAA compliance.
